Locked out, key snapped inside the cylinder, or a door forced during a break-in attempt: one call is enough. A licensed and insured technician leaves immediately, 24/7, holidays included, across Montreal Island, Laval and Longueuil.
Montreal lock emergencies: what we fix on site
Our mobile unit sets out as soon as you call, equipped to settle nearly every emergency on site, day or night, anywhere on the island of Montreal.
Locked out, keys inside
Whether the door swung shut behind you or the key is still in the inside lock, we start with picking and other no-break techniques, to keep the door and its frame intact.
Lost, stolen or snapped keys
Misplaced or stolen key ring: once the door is open, we rekey the cylinder or fit a new lock — a high-security Medeco if needed. A key tip stuck in the cylinder comes out without damaging it.
Jammed mechanism or worn cylinder
A bolt that no longer throws, a loose handle or a cylinder spinning freely: the fault is diagnosed on site and repaired with parts from our unit, or the lock is replaced if it is not worth saving.
Securing the door after a break-in
Ripped-out cylinder, bent deadbolt or split frame: the door locks again before we leave, with a new lock and a reinforced strike if needed.
Frozen lock: why, and at what temperature?
Rain, melting snow or condensation from warm indoor air seeps into the cylinder and freezes at 0 °C, locking the pins. In dry cold, the grease is to blame: ordinary greases are rated to about −20 °C, and keys start to turn hard around −15 °C. We thaw the mechanism without forcing it, then clean it and relubricate it with a water-based, silicone-free lubricant.
Electronic keypad not responding, dead batteries?
Most electronic locks run on 4 AA batteries, 6 volts in all. As the voltage drops, the motor no longer has the strength to drive the bolt: the keypad stays dark or rejects a valid code, and the door will not open. We get you in through the backup key cylinder and reprogram your codes on site.
An emergency, with no bad surprises
Response time, method and price: all stated before we leave.
Non-destructive entry first
Picking, decoding and bypassing are always attempted first. Drilling is a last resort, used only when the lock is beyond repair, and always after we explain why.
An honest window, stated on the call
These windows apply in normal traffic for central boroughs; Laval and Longueuil depend on bridge conditions. No arrival is “guaranteed”: your real window is confirmed before we leave.
Full price confirmed before we leave
The complete rate — travel and labour included — is confirmed by phone before we leave. No surprise charges on arrival, card payment accepted and an itemized invoice provided.
Locked out at night?
Get yourself somewhere safe and well lit first. Check whether someone close to you has a spare, or whether your building superintendent can let you in — that is sometimes free. Otherwise, call us.
A business you can verify
All our licences are registered and verifiable.
